The mermadons are a race of amphibious humanoids occupying Lake Osirin. They live in harmony with the human inhabitants of the region.
They posses gills near their ears and can go up to a depth of 1000 m without much problem. They flourish here due to the large suppy of easy-to-catch fish. Their cities are built on land. They are relatively unimppresive when compared to hunge settlements like Shandon.
The have webbed feet and a dorsal fin located behind the neck to allow efficient swimming.

The Mermadons are actually a race of elfen lepards populating the inner regions of the Mermadon Valley. Each stands exactly 5-foot-4 at 123 pounds, and most carry purses made from the rare "gucci" element. When they speak, they purposely leave out important words, allowing others to madly postulate the nature of the missing pieces. They differ from all humans most distinctly in their facial structure. Instead of eyes, the Mermadons have 4 motion sensitive nipples between their scalp and their nose-mouth (a single orifice divided up by three nostril-like segments of skin). For auditory purposes, the Mermadons sport 5 mitten-shaped vibratory sensors which extend from their necks. They are most known for their athletic achievements--they dominated Canadian football and rugby from 1963-1978. However, they are also recognized as the only known race to exhibit dual-grundle nether-regions.
