Aten smiles.
"Go friend. A battlefield is no place for a cleric. Think of yourself not as a coward, but a hero. Most men dont last as long as you."

The bishop looked at the three for a while, a gaze that only years of breediing and training can bring, that seemed to burn a hole in your soul. Finally he shrugged, - So be it. Go straight eastward, and do not worry. If it is the lords will that you find teh reliquary than he shal provide a guide. I shall see if the Marshal will provide more troops to aid you. He falls silent, and mutters a prayer before giving a final blessing and he leaves.
The trail is surprisingly easy to follow, here and their a piece of flesh lies entangled in the trees. Every so often there is a pile of guano of such size and odor that even the flies avoid it. Soon through the treetops one can see a rock formation, in the general flatness it seems to rise impossibly high. On coming closer everybody can here the steady thud of kettle drums. Even closer and you can see as a draconoid leaps from the crag and soars away, on its back a rider.
A heavy climb later and you reach the cave. Texts are written on the walls, brown in color, that make your eyes water if you look at them to long. The place stinks with guano, and soon you can not smell anything else. There are numerous chests, rugs and skins (animal and human) that litter teh area, but nothing that resembles the discription of teh reliquary. At the far end of teh cave there seems to be another cave, hidden by a curtain, that was of such high value that the king had few such things. From behind it comes a clicking sound and the rattle of chains...

Aten walks behind Ishtar. The two seem hesitant to open the curtain. The rattle of chains gets louder by the moment.
Suddenly, with a gush of spirit, Aten draws open the ornate curtain.

ishtar impulsively, lowers his torch, getting his staff ready, i think inthedark should decide what we find behind it, he took a lot of effort to write it all so well after all.

OOC: Yeah I've noticed I've got a nasty habit with "teh"...
IC: A shriek is heard and Aten barely avoids losing his hand, though a nasty gash is made on his forearm. A cockatrice rushes further before stopping suddenly. Around the, resembling a chicken, creatures neck is a metal collar by which it is attached to the far wall. Despite it's appearence only a complete fool would not be afraid, a cockatrice is able of killing his opponents with a single gaze. Fortunantly this apparent one is blinded yet the creature as other ways of killing. His beak that had opened Atens arm with ease, claws on its legs and strength that can break a mans bones with ease. The cave behind is small and only two things are there, one is a dark shape, unfortunantly it can not be seen properly. But the other is a silver casket, bearing the icon of the saint, the reliquary! Unfortunantly to reach it you must first get past the creature...

Aten is frightened out of his wits. He reels backwards, tending to his arm. As a reflex, he tried to send up tentacle like roots from the ground. But to no avail! The cave floor was solid hard, the roots couldnt break through into the air!

The torch it the creature and the smell of burning feathers is added to the other stenches in the cave. The cockatrice shrieks and tries to rush at Ravendorus but is yanked back as it's chain halts it. It shrieks again flapping it's wings, paying no attention to anything but it's attempts to reach Ravendorus...

((Where did you get another torch from?))
Aten gets himself into a charging stance.
three
two
one...
He runs forward with a sudden burst of speed. He rams his skull against the body of the massive thingyatrice. His head plunges into the dirty feathers of the beast until it makes contact with bone. The bone shatters almost immediately.
((You get to decide what bone I've broken. NOTE - My head bang never fails to break. You can always reduce the effect of the broken bone, however.
