"Any sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic."
Our ship has been under seige for several days. These flying monsters are relentless. We hope that you will send help soon. We are somewhere south of Guenne Foss.
Yours truly, Adam Church
You fold the letter and look at the Captain of the Guard. He smiles dryly and takes back the paper.
"A rather vague description, eh? We received it by means of a crow not long ago. A few battle ships set off in that general direction. All they found was the ripped remains of a sinking ship."
He glances at the paper and then puts it away. Both of you walk along the rim of the port, breathing in the salty air.
"Anyway, lets get back to the topic. As I was saying, this port may be subject to attack very soon. Crowe Manglion, a cruel warlord who owns several of the islands we trade with, has declared Rythanis an enemy nation. Something about how we encourage learning in the magical arts. We will pay you to spend a few days here and protect us if need be."

Lifaen comes up to the captain, his crystal staff gleaming in the sunlight. "I would like to help in defending this camp to the best of my abilities" he says, agreeing in joining the captain.

The Captain is startled by Lifaen's sudden appearance. His facial expression eases when he remembers that he had sent a letter to the Wizard as well.
"Well, you'll be staying in an inn not far from where we stand. It's a nice cosy little place."
The captain's eyes turn away, as if recollecting some distant memory.
"Ah, good times. Anyway, will you be needing anything during your stay? Think of this as a vacation, chances of them coming in are slim. A large fleet of battle ships patrols the area. I could show you around a bit before I take you to the inn. Anything you want to see in particular?"

"Battle ships? You mean water?"
Kravis laughs as he closes his eyes.He breathes out and says-
"You might want to know that I don't swim that well"
Kravis hears a laughter from inside his mind. He simply thinks
The fact that I cant swim also means you can swim , Sivark.
"Nothing. Show me my quaters and leave me be untill you require my presence, Captain."

The bear-like man turns his head to face Kravis, who had been listening intently for quite some time.
"Well, go down this street until you reach the Howling Wolf inn. Tell the man at the front that I sent you. What about you two? Anything on your mind?

Ishtar shakes his head and walks to the inn next to Lifaen and Kravis.

The group arrives at the inn within an hour. Exhausted by the trip from Shandon, they slump into the comfy chairs positioned in front of the hotel counter. The inn-keeper immediately recognises them as the men the Captain was talking about. He approaches the fatigued travellers.
"Ah, it's an honour to have you all here."
He hands Ishtar a rusty key.
"Room 32. Go up the stairs and move to the left. It's our largest and most luxurious room. I hope your stay is enjoyable."

Lifaen concentrates his mind on any presence of creature that would be threatening or anytihng unusual. He then thinks of the message over and over again.

While Lifaen contemplates the state of affairs, Ishtar walks down the road. It was a bright sunny day. Ishtar didn't see those very often.
He spots the Crusane bobbing up and down a few blocks down. The ship belonged exclusively to him, Aten and Revendorus. The Captain provided free maintainence for the former pirate ship.
He comes a across a large, marble statue of the Godess of Liberty.
Her head had been sliced off.
It had been like that for quite a while. The deed was probably done by a group of rowdy pirates.
A sign has been firmly planted in the soil in front of a wooden building.
"BEER BEER BEER!"

((NO offense guys, my character is a loner ) Kravis catches the key and stares at the fool who threw it at him. "Grow up." Kravis looks at Lifaen concentrating at something useless and makes a face. Do I have to be between these fools.Nincompoops and retardsHe heads over to the innkeeper. He looks at him and asks. "Can I get a room to myself? Frankly speaking, I do not usually accompany barbarians and conjurers. I am of noble blood. I deserve my own quarters." Saying these words he tosses the key at Lifaen. This was the first time he had ever acted as a snob. ((Istar/ Lifaen can you be more elaborate and detailed about your feelings when you do stuff???))

((sure why not???)) Lifaen feels really really annoyed. There was a time when you were safe from fools as a psychic. The time was gone. Lifaen enters the room with the keys. He sits down on a comfortable couch and rests.

"No, you cannot." says the inn keeper, rather off-handedly. "All our rooms our full. We do not have a policy of special treatment towards nobles. You will have to make do with the room the Captain is paying for. I apologise."
There was a tinge of sarcasm in his last two words.
"Anyway, aren't you supposed to be one of those free-thinkers who strives for equality among men?"
----------------------------------------
Sharreign enters the spacious room. Indeed, the housing was fabulous.
Things in the room:
- Carpet flooring - Expensive paintings and vases - A shower and bathroom - Three king-sized beds - A messenger dove - A cupboard filled with over 100 books on various topics - A study desk - A mirror - 2 Closets

Lifaen takes out a book and starts to read after having a refreshing rest. He cups his hands under the sink and sips the pure water from his hands. He switches off the sink.
