Name:Alsdair, son of Mathew from the House of
Mere-Wode, or simply Alsdair.
Weapon:Long Sword, Long Spear.
Skills:Swordsmanship, Horsemanship.
Abilities:
Horsemanship;
Charge: Alsdair has long trained in fighting from horseback and knows when and how to force the horse to charge so as to gain the deadliest effect.
Easy in the saddle: Though not exactly knowledgable about horses he knows how to control them. He rarely falls from his seat, he can ride guiding the animal only with his feet and he can both mount and dismount with ease.
Swordsmanship:
Devastating: His blows lack finess, but are effective, armor and bones shatter under Alsdairs attacks and the wounds caused on unarmed opponents are usually not a pleasent sight.
Skewer Them!: As all knights Alsdair trained in fighting from horseback, and more importantly the lance. He knows how to manuver the weapon so to strike his opponent as well as how to recieve a blow and still live and keep his seat.
Description:
Born as the second son in the old and noble (if somewhat poor) family of Mere-Wolde, Alsdair was raised so as to, if required, to take up his fathers lands or to leave so as not to form competition for his older brother. At five he was sent to his godfather to start training for knighthood, at fifteen he started riding into battles as a squire, at twenty he was knighted.
At 21 his father arranged his marriage with Valencia of the House of Shawe, who was 16. Alsdair did not question the descision, his elder brother was showing no signs of dying and also had an heir of his own, marraige offered financial stabilization. At 22 he lost both his father, wife and the newborn child, his fathers lands passed to his brother, his wives lands returned to his in-laws and he was left to earn a living another way.
Alsdair is a tall yet thin man. Not at all handsome though not unpleasent for the eye. He treis to keep himself clean shaven, and tries to ensure that his hair does not get to long.
